Plant Designer Senior - Remote/Hybrid

About the role

Mid-Level Plant Designer position in Oak Ridge, TN. Local candidates preferred, but those with applicable experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply, considering additional travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop piping systems and equipment layout in SmartPlant 3D or similar BIM design tools.
• Create General Equipment Arrangement deliverables.
• Assist with resolving interferences and developing resolutions.
• Ensure proper integration with other BIM tools such as Intelligent Schematics.
• Collaborate with Piping Engineering on Pipe Specifications and stress analysis support locations.
• Work with Structural Engineering for Pipe Support designs.
• Manage model outputs for material lists and reports.
• Coordinate with Civil on underground interface connections.
• Maintain a general understanding of schedules and budgets for the Plant Design and Piping Team.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher.
• 10+ years of experience using BIM tools for Plant Design.
• Experience in chemical process industrial mechanical/piping design.
• Nuclear Piping Design experience preferred.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and exhibit professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork.

Essential Functions

• Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting (up to 20 lbs., with longest distance carried of 50 feet).
• Hand manipulation required for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation (right and/or left hands).
• Occasional need to reach and/or work above or below the shoulder.
• Must be alert to equipment in the field; occasional travel required.
• Work near construction job site equipment, hazardous machinery, and uneven ground.
• Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature/humidity extremes, and potential work at heights.

Equipment and Tools

Standard office PC with required software will be provided.

Pay

$60 – $79 per hour (good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws).
