Plant Clerk
About the role
As a Plant Clerk at US Aggregates, you will serve as a support partner to the plant operations and sales team, providing administrative and customer support to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Primary backup for dispatching, scheduling haulers for daily loads for your site, as needed.
- Responsible for all daily weighing and ticketing of trucks for the site.
- Check and verify daily tickets for accuracy.
- Responsible for all visitor check-ins, safety requirements for visitors, and site-specific training.
- Scanning and filing daily tickets.
- Responsible for processing all daily cash sales for the site.
- Responsible for updating and compiling the daily CAPP report, submitting weekly/monthly to the QC lab and plant manager.
- Assist the sales coordinator and sales team in communicating quote information or entering quotes as instructed.
- Assist the sales coordinator and sales team with job updates and new developments within the territory or location.
- Responsible for training all backup plant clerks for the site.
- Manage all purchase orders (POs) for the territory, working with the Area Manager and Plant Managers on billing, invoicing, and other items as needed.
- Assist with safety submissions as needed.
- Support the sales team on customer issues and provide updates on key job statuses.
- Function as the liaison between sales, operations, and other internal teams to ensure seamless operation.
- Provide regular communication between the sales and operations teams.
- Partner with the sales team to identify opportunities for improving communication on sales activity and job status.
- Provide accurate and prompt responses to all customer inquiries.
- Handle daily phone calls, office mailing, faxing, and general office filing.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including continuous growth in alignment with the company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.

- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external individuals.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects while supporting multiple sales professionals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to create streamlined processes and efficiency.
