Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. The individual will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our manufacturing operations, providing strategic input on financial decisions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Responsibilities
- Overseeing the manufacturing accounting processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Performing monthly and year-end close procedures, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Developing and managing the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and senior management to establish financial targets and monitor performance.
- Conducting regular financial analysis, identifying trends and variances, and providing insightful recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department, implementing new processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Providing financial guidance and support to the manufacturing team, helping them understand the financial implications of their decisions and actions.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Proven experience in performing account reconciliations, preparing annual budgets, and managing year-end close processes.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- A high level of integrity and reliability, with the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
