Plans Examiner
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive plan reviews for compliance with the Massachusetts Building Code.
- Review architectural, structural, fire and life-safety, accessibility, and egress components.
- Cook professionally with design professionals, municipal officials, and internal staff.
- Provide clear, defensible code interpretations and written review comments.
- Maintain accurate and timely plan review documentation.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Massachusetts State Certification (Plans Examiner or equivalent).
- ICC Plans Examiner Certification(s) (Building preferred; additional disciplines a plus).
- Demonstrated experience in municipal or third-party plan review.
- Strong working knowledge of Massachusetts amendments.
- Excellent written communication and professional judgment.
- MA Licensed Engineer or Architect.
- Multi-discipline ICC certifications.
- Experience reviewing commercial, mixed-use, or specialized occupancies.
- Familiarity with electronic plan review platforms.
