PLANS EXAMINER

Key Responsibilities

• Review residential construction plans and structural documents
• Ensure compliance with building codes, city policies, and ordinances
• Cookordinate plan review with engineering, fire, and planning departments
• Interpret blueprints, calculations, and construction specifications
• Perform field inspections when necessary
• Communicate corrections or code requirements to contractors and developers
• Maintain plan review records and reports

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates/Technical degree with coursework in building construction, or related field
• 1-3 years’ experience in plan checking or building construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements

• Possession of Building Plans Examiner Certification or Residential Plans Examiner Certification issued by the International Code Council (ICC) at hire
• Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position
• Valid Driver License of appropriate class
