OVERVIEW: As a Planning Support Specialist, you will be integral to the seamless operation of our financial planning processes. Your role requires meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency within a dynamic, fast-paced team. You will collaborate closely with the team to deliver exceptional service and support, helping clients achieve their financial goals. Key responsibilities include but not limited to: FINANCIAL PLANNING OPERATIONS: Coordinate with the team & clients to gather and organize information necessary for developing comprehensive financial plansPrepare detailed materials, including but not limited to:Plan presentationsInvestment and risk product proposalsPerformance reportsMarketing materialsPreparation prior to client/prospective client meetingsReview file contents and case notesGather documents per need and general file organizationRun insurance proposals and in-force illustrationsPerform data-entry and general review in our proprietary planning softwarePrepare and review all necessary paperwork and agendas CRM MANAGEMENT: Utilize Northwestern Mutual's CRM system to maintain accurate client records, track interactions, and ensure data integrityLeverage CRM insights to support financial planning processes and enhance client engagement strategies OPERATIONAL SUPPORT: Utilize Northwestern Mutual’s illustration system and planning software to run proposals and perform data entry tasks as dictated by leadershipReview balance sheets and investment statements, demonstrating attention to detail by identifying discrepanciesConduct research as directed, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy COMMUNICATIONS: Engage in client communication ensuring professionalism and clarityMaintain proactive communication with internal teams to facilitate efficient processes Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Life and Health Insurance License must be obtained within the first six monthsExperience: Industry experience preferredTechnical Proficiency: Mastery level proficiency, comfort, and efficiency with Microsoft Office Suite DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS Attention to Detail: Commitment to executing tasks to an exacting standard, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness, and identifying when something doesn't look rightCommunication Skills: Exceptionally strong professional communication skills, both verbal and writtenOrganizational Skills: Procedural work habits and the ability to stay organized and see a high number of dynamic tasks to completionTeam Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with a high-performing team, engaging in ongoing interaction with each team memberSelf-Motivation: A self-driven, ambitious personality who is motivated by high expectations and consistent performanceAdaptability & Quick Learning: Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment, executing tasks efficientlyProactivity: Demonstrates a proactive approach to tasks and challenges, with strong time management skills and the ability to ask for help when neededMultitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring efficient workflow and completion SALARY RANGE: $57,000-$65,000 with bonus potential BENEFITS INCLUDE: 401(k) plan with employer matchMedical insurance including health, dental, and vision coverageGroup short-term and long-term disability insuranceGenerous PTO policy including paid holidaysFamily leave (maternity, paternity, & adoption)Support for personal education and development - including licensing, registration, and designations WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US: A dynamic role with tremendous capacity to have client impact along with opportunity to learn and advance.
