Job Description

The Planning & Execution Team Member III is responsible for the flow of work through the machine shop, oversees requests for outsourcing, and directs the work of other Planning & Execution Team Members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create and release manufactured parts out of MRP and schedules all work requests.
  • Schedule and expedite late releases and monitor changes to requests.
  • Release and schedule manufactured warranty requests.
  • Work in conjunction with manufacturing to optimize capacity in the machine shop for core work.
  • Level load all work centers in the machine shop.
  • Rout and schedule engineering change notices.
  • Determine best machining practices and what can be reworked, then route and schedule internal and external manufactured requests.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the manufacturing team and customers on manufactured parts.
  • Develop quotes, routings, and lead-times for all RGA’s and work with customer service on scheduling.
  • Effectively communicate with internal customers on the status of manufactured parts.
  • Train, coach, and mentor, and direct the work of other Planning & Execution Team Members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Affiliate degree in machine tool/fabrication technology or a related field and five years of related experience, or
  • A high school diploma/GED and eight years of manufacturing experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient knowledge of raw material types and machining principles.
  • Proficient knowledge of machining processes such as chrome/nickel plating, hardening, and stress relieving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, XA and MRP.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move about frequently.
  • Occasional repetitive motion and grasping.
  • Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently.
  • Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
