Job Description
The Planning & Execution Team Member III is responsible for the flow of work through the machine shop, oversees requests for outsourcing, and directs the work of other Planning & Execution Team Members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and release manufactured parts out of MRP and schedules all work requests.
- Schedule and expedite late releases and monitor changes to requests.
- Release and schedule manufactured warranty requests.
- Work in conjunction with manufacturing to optimize capacity in the machine shop for core work.
- Level load all work centers in the machine shop.
- Rout and schedule engineering change notices.
- Determine best machining practices and what can be reworked, then route and schedule internal and external manufactured requests.
- Serve as a technical resource for the manufacturing team and customers on manufactured parts.
- Develop quotes, routings, and lead-times for all RGA’s and work with customer service on scheduling.
- Effectively communicate with internal customers on the status of manufactured parts.
- Train, coach, and mentor, and direct the work of other Planning & Execution Team Members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Affiliate degree in machine tool/fabrication technology or a related field and five years of related experience, or
- A high school diploma/GED and eight years of manufacturing experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Proficient knowledge of raw material types and machining principles.
- Proficient knowledge of machining processes such as chrome/nickel plating, hardening, and stress relieving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, XA and MRP.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of metallurgy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move about frequently.
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping.
- Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently.
- Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
