Planning, Associate Specialist
Join Southern California Edison (SCE) as a Planning, Associate Specialist and help build a cleaner energy future. In this role, you’ll serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for identifying, prioritizing, and assigning projects to the appropriate department, while tracking and following up on program work spreadsheets. Your contributions will support SCE’s mission to reduce carbon emissions and deliver reliable, sustainable energy.
Responsibilities
- Check daily for new Service Requests (SRs, MSRs) or Work Orders in Design Manager; contact customers to clarify scope, timeline, and specifications.
- Verify if existing notifications/SRs are present on the same or nearby structures using cGIS; analyze scope of work and determine assignment to Planners or Field Techs based on standard guidelines.
- Analyze workload and skill sets of Planners/Field Techs; assign work to the most appropriate resource in Design Manager, bundle tasks for Field Techs, and update the Planner folder in SharePoint.
- Review work order management data and weekly project status reports for completeness and accuracy; make updates and corrections as needed, including tracking projects with system tools.
- Interface with Planners and Field Techs to ensure project status is up-to-date and accurate; provide progress reports to leadership.
- Review and validate work order completion.
- Set up and administer SharePoint sites to organize, share, and protect information; maintain vital reports and updates for leadership.
- Maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
- Ensure the protection of SCE’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly manage sensitive data (e.g., private customer data, proprietary information, confidential records) with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Requirements
- Analytical experience using Microsoft Excel to perform advanced functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts, and graphing.
- Experience working with scheduling software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Experience in the electric utility industry.
- Familiarity with Design Manager, SAP, and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Project management expertise.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility when facing changing priorities or deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-motivated; able to work independently when needed.
Schedule
- Hybrid work mode: Report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on remaining days. Employees must work and reside in California.
- Option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40 hours/5 days per week.
