Planner - UG Mobile Maintenance

About the role

As our Underground Mobile Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for preparing, compiling, and maintaining records, documents, reports, and statistics pertaining to mobile mining equipment in an underground hard rock mining operation to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You’ll start every day organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work activities to promote a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all routine data and withdrawal associated with the maintenance group in a computerized maintenance management system.
• Procure warehouse stock, manage assets, and assist with supply chain issues at site.
• Implement process-based maintenance programs, coordinating with operations, engineering, and outside services to refine the overall maintenance program.
• Create and maintain equipment and equipment related history.
• Generate work orders, maintain in-service details on equipment, and record modifications to equipment.
• Track and schedule preventative maintenance to maintain all safety and environmental-oriented certifications.
• Inspect equipment and work areas before work starts to ensure safety.
• Work independently, as a part of a team, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
• Completion of a maintenance trade school program preferred.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling for mobile equipment.
• Prior experience required in the use of a CMMS.
• Able to demonstrate the values of integrity, respect, and collaboration.

• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

• Physical Demands: Stand, walk, sit for extended periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear; vision - constant; hearing - occasional; able to judge distances and spatial relationships to avoid accidents while driving and walking underground; able to adjust varying points of reference while safely navigating the terrain, maintaining awareness of traffic, and operating tools and machinery; able to identify vehicles, machinery, and people in peripheral vision; speaking - occasional; hearing - occasional.
