Planner Scheduler
About the role
This position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of up to 20 technicians and vendors to maintain client-owned facilities in the region. Facility systems include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utility, HVAC, electrical equipment, building controls, plumbing systems, indoor/outdoor lighting, life safety equipment, building & grounds, and all utility systems installed in/on the customer’s property.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-job hazard assessments, job risk reviews, and identify high-potential risks; perform audits and observations; follow all company and site safety guidelines and procedures.
- Plan and schedule the daily activity of up to 20 route maintenance technicians in advance to optimize wrench and travel time.
- Schedule vendors to perform scheduled and emergency services; coordinate access with facilities when required.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of facility operations and maintenance.
- Assist with compiling facility condition assessment data for the region.
- Develop job tasks, procedures, and schedules to establish manpower and equipment requirements.
- Assist in developing spare parts inventories for up to 15 route maintenance vehicles and site-specific requirements.
- Attend planning and scheduling meetings with assigned departments, personnel, and clients as needed.
- Develop KPI reports to track work order performance and deliverables.
- Accurately code data, handle office procedures, and respond professionally to inquiries.
- Balance accounts and compile computer reports; maintain positive customer and employee relationships.
- Make effective decisions in the manager’s absence.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support safety training compliance and record keeping.
- Communicate with team members to support short- and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
- Perform accurate and timely administrative duties to assist the zone manager and director of operations.
- Travel may be required during start-up implementation and periodically for projects and facility condition assessments; travel expenses will be covered.
Requirements
- High school diploma or approved GED certificate.
- 3 years of experience as a planner/scheduler using a CMMS to plan and schedule route maintenance technicians and vendors.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Advanced experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience in accounting, vendor management, purchasing & procurement.
- Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and specifications.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and work from elevated areas. Full range of body motion is required, including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate hand tools. The employee frequently stands, walks, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, and must talk and hear. Regular lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds are required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
Work environment
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, and very loud noise levels is expected.
