Production Planner Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure departments have the supplies and inventory needed to function according to schedule.
- Communicate with supply teammates about the status of components.
- Solve problems to reduce the impact of delayed materials and convey delays to management.
- Build plan for a large volume production facility.
- Validate work order integrity.
- Ensure production line balance.
- Release work orders for material pull and production.
- Achieve accuracy and update production planning reports.
- Communicate daily with Manufacturing Operations and Material Supply.
- Work across multiple departments: Inventory Control, Material Supply, Program Management, Manufacturing Operations, and Quality.
- Track and report daily/weekly build plans, order status, and demand forecast.
- Provide timely responses to program management regarding customer prioritization requests.
- Identify and escalate issues related to meeting production schedules.
Qualifications
- Two years of technical school preferred, or two years of related production planning experience.
- At least five years of experience in production environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on high-level experience with Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data-driven communication and retention.
- Ability to learn and understand the processes/capabilities/limitations of internal planning system (MPS).
- Ability to coordinate and work cooperatively with various departments and personnel to meet customer commitments.
- Ability to work in standard office settings, including continuous sitting, standing, keyboarding.
- Ability to work as business needs require, which may include long days, occasional evenings and weekends, and occasional travel for business meetings or training.
Physical Requirements
- Bending, reaching, lifting, carrying and moving materials and objects.
- Occasionally to frequent standing and sitting at computer.

Education
- Typically requires 2-4+ years of related experience.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- An associate degree in Computer/Electrical or equivalent is preferred.
