Planner II or III

About the role

The position may be filled at either the Planner II or Planner III level, depending on qualifications.

Planner II: Performs professional planning work of moderate difficulty with limited supervision. The incumbent is significantly involved in a variety of plan review and long-range planning and development efforts, with a well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices.

Planner III: Performs professional planning work of high complexity and variety with limited supervision. The incumbent leads and/or is significantly involved in complex planning assignments requiring independence and judgment, with a well-developed knowledge of planning principles and practices.

Requirements

• Planner II:
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of professional planning experience
  • AICP certification required within 4 years of employment
  • Valid Oklahoma driver license and insurable status
  • Current AICP preferred
  • Master’s degree in planning, public administration, or related field may substitute for up to 2 years of required experience
• Planner III:
  • Master’s degree in planning, public administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional planning experience
  • AICP certification required
  • Professional experience in project management preferred

Pay

• Planner II: $63,140 – $70,789 per year with benefits
• Planner III: $84,267 – $94,476 per year with benefits
