Where You Will Work
The Miami smelter and rod plant is located 90 miles east of Phoenix in the historic mining district of Globe-Miami. The area offers natural beauty and a rich mining heritage, with nearby shopping options like Walmart, Safeway, and Fry’s.
What You Will Do
- Support the area Supervisor in all facets of job preparation, execution, and follow-up as per Freeport-McMoRan standards, including time spent "in the field" to ensure materials and equipment readiness.
- Closely interact with the Supervisor to establish and monitor planned schedules for assigned activities.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders.
- Review, prioritize, and schedule work orders.
- Execute, establish, and maintain a history for all assigned activities in the management system (SAP).
- Maintain warehouse minimum/maximum levels and appropriate storage conditions of materials and parts.
- Interface with Global Supply Chain for contract execution, preparing scopes of work, and initiating requests for parts and materials.
- Collaborate with senior-level Planners and first-line supervisors for planned major production shutdowns.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports for site management to measure key performance indicators.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High school diploma or GED AND four (4) years specific experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations; OR four (4) years related field maintenance experience; OR four (4) years of specific Planning experience;
- Associates in technical field AND two (2) years related experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations;
- Two (2) years of specific Planning experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations;
- Bachelor's degree in technical field AND one (1) year related experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations;
- One (1) year of specific Planning experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations;
- General knowledge of Maintenance Planning;
- Basic understanding of Mining and/or Process Equipment;
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications;
- Demonstrated professional/effective written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or electrical maintenance background;
- Experience conducting preventive/predictive maintenance procedures in an industrial setting;
- Experience with equipment repair, overhauls, and job planning.

- The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $65,000-$90,000.
