About the role
This role performs professional and technical work in the Community Development Department. Independently plan and implement current and long-range planning projects and manage applications and support the Director in department activities.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan and implement current and long-range planning projects
- Manage applications and support the Director in department activities
- Perform permit application review for compliance with the Gunnison County Land Use Resolution
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
Qualifications/Education
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in land-use planning, natural resources or environmental resources, with emphasis on geology, ecology, biology or related fields;
- One to two years professional planning experience and demonstration of increasingly responsible related experience in land use planning and local government administration;
- One to two years of experience with direct contact and assistance to the public in a governmental or regulatory context;
- Experience with drafting and effectively presenting written and oral presentations to elected officials, commissions or the public preferred,
- or Any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Pay
The hourly range is from $32.06 to $36.50, depending on experience, plus full benefits. The County pays monthly on the last week day of the month.*
