The Planner I develops and coordinates production schedules based on customer orders and delivery requirements, supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on production planning, scheduling, and materials management using Oracle systems to drive reliable execution and inventory accuracy. This is an on-site position at our Chillicothe, MO facility.
Responsibilities
- Plans and develops weekly production line schedules of assigned departments based on the master schedule plan.
- May schedule rework, unfinished parts and assemblies, new product releases, and special orders.
- Analyzes shortages of both manufactured and purchased parts.
- Prepares all necessary support materials for production, including route sheets, shop packets, and shipping documents.
- Establishes effective communication with customers, sales offices, Corporate, and plant production departments to ensure on-time delivery of products by monitoring work orders from start to finish.
- Expedites and secures parts needed for production.
- Makes or recommends revisions to planned production schedules when schedules cannot be met, including planning backup schedules and directing production supervisors on personnel utilization.
- Keeps manager informed of production scheduling issues requiring attention.
- Provides support in other areas when required.
- Complies with standard work practices, SOPs, and all EHS and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Planning and scheduling experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associate’s degree in supply chain, business, or related area.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis and ad-hoc reports.
- Good communication skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
