Responsibilities

• Aid Project Managers and Superintendents in planning and developing construction schedules
• Collaborate with Project Executives to prepare proposal and preconstruction schedules
• Analyze historical production data to develop activity durations and validate construction progress
• Maintain and update detailed construction schedules ranging from 2500 to 5000 activities
• Monitor and analyze progress on detailed construction schedules
• Resolve discrepancies from actual vs. planned progress and facilitate an action plan with the project team
• Create visual schedules as needed
• Develop linear schedules as needed to view production sequences
• Analyze repetitive workflows to ensure realistic achievable cycle times
• Prepare concise monthly schedule narratives
• Generate monthly metrics and Key Performance Indicators for executive reports
• Ensure quality and excellence applying Suffolk's Standards of Practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or an applicable discipline
• Experience in preparing CPM schedules for vertical construction projects
• Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software
• Ability to manage multiple project schedules in the region
• Willingness to travel to regional project sites to assist project teams on a weekly basis
• Willingness to obtain AACE PSP certified certification within 6 months of hire
• Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn new software applications
• Strong ability to analyze and synthesize information in a concise manner and make recommendations on strategies to resolve project issues
• Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to apply appropriate communication techniques to various individuals
• A positive customer service orientation, with both internal and external clients
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating a consistent commitment and ability to work with diverse work groups and individuals

Skills

• Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software

Pay

The expected salary range for this position (Senior Planner) in Los Angeles is between $115,000 and $162,000 USD. This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Suffolk’s total compensation package. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Suffolk offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation strategy.
