About the role
The Planner will be producing, revising, and interpreting accurate site plans for installations of Siemens Healthineers (SMS) equipment at specific customer sites. This role involves participating in special projects, providing information, maintaining references, and controlling costs related to business expenses.
Responsibilities
- Obtain site-specific information to develop drawings from Project Managers, Account Executive, and Product Sales managers involved with the customer.
- Attend pre-sales meetings, post-sales meetings, and site visits as requested by AE/PM’s.
- Develop preliminary (pre-sale) drawings for use by Sales and Project Managers, including revisions as necessary to obtain customer approval.
- Fill out Service Clearance Assessment Form for sites with service impedance and submit to Siemens and copy Field Service Managers.
- Distribute electronic format preliminary plans and/or order and distribute hard copies to AE’s, PM’s and/or customers, as necessary.
- Develop accurate installation plans/drawings using AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop, reflecting all accessories and OEM products, and ensuring they are effective for all stakeholders.
- Verify accuracy of final plans based on the booked order.
- Alert PM’s of possible problems regarding site conditions and discrepancies between order configuration and site specific needs.
- Distribute electronic format finals as necessary and/or order blueprints and distribute to PM’s/AE’s as necessary.
- Generate final plans revisions as dictated by unforeseen site conditions, changes in equipment configurations, and correct errors.
- Ensure that drawings meet all requirements and codes, including room requirements and customer needs, modality/equipment-specific drawings, local codes, environmental, ergonomic, safety requirements, and Siemens' corporate standards.
- Issue magnetic shielding calculation requests to SMS, including filling order forms/site surveys and sketches, and distribute as necessary upon receiving calculations.
- Issue requests for preliminary and/or final plans to SMS for new products that are not yet released for local planning.
- Maintain a library of equipment cut sheets and Planning Guides which may be distributed upon request.
- Be accountable for the accuracy and interpretation of the drawings throughout the planning and installation process, involving site audits as determined by the Project Manager, responses to problems and questions from all stakeholders, and providing support, direction, and technical information for site-specific issues.
- Maintain a database of past and on-going projects, an archive of projects in electronic and/or hardcopy formats, and upload electronic format projects into Lisa.
- Update AutoCAD software and SMS modality specific templates as per SMS schedule.
- Maintain close professional relationships with SMS Planning manager, Modality Planning Specialists, and SMS Installation Planners to obtain support, as needed.
- Identify and report repetitive and unusual installations problems to SMS Modality Planning Specialists, the Project Manager, and sales group.
- Identify and recommend areas for improvement in the planning process and in generating drawings that can result in time or cost savings.
- Control costs through efficient scheduling of time and site visits, business expense decisions, management of expenses reporting, etc.
- Verify accuracy of ARC invoices and approve for payment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent combination of education and experience (3-5 years)
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop software
- Knowledge of technical and administrative aspects of all phases of project planning, including management of information systems used to develop construction projects and preparation of engineering design plans; all related codes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Must have AutoCAD MIP certification.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge in high volume production activities requiring expert customer service, operations planning, workflow, developing diverse support staff, establishing and applying quality control measures to a process, and at least intermediate knowledge of PC office software applications.
- Knowledge of customer service models, telephone queuing, workforce scheduling, and telecommunications helpful.
