Planner

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the supply and demand of materials through the supply chain to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
• Analyze on-hand inventory against material requirements to determine potential shortages in the near and short term.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate critical part shortages to purchasing and manufacturing.
• Create and maintain job orders with accurate due dates based on input from MRP action messages.
• Expedite critical part shortages for both purchased and manufactured parts and follow up to ensure production receives the parts before their requirement date on the production line.
• Work in cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues within the organization.
• Investigate and correct demand discrepancies within the MRP system.
• Work with engineering for alternate material substitutions and sourcing for alternate suppliers, while communicating issues with Manufacturing.
• Maintain all planning parameters in the item master for assigned manufactured parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing/planning or related areas.
• Certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CSM, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in procurement and planning concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Cross-functional project management skills.
• Strong internal and external communication skills.
• Experience with global sourcing is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.
