Summary: Develops manufacturing plans and work instructions to support assemby, fabrication, and machining. procurement and processing of tools, components and end items in support of contractual and regulatory delivery requirements. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Uses computer and follows department/organization processes for developing, implementing, and maintaining various manufacturing plans, Bills of Material, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are met. Revises planning as necessitated by design changes, work orders, and/or material requirements or availability. Reviews and interprets customer specifications, blue prints and other related technical specifications to ensure requirements are translated to work product. Analyzes models and uses information to create plans. Supports senior personnel in the development and study of manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives. Completes specifications and requirements for procured commodities to ensure manufacturing requirements are met. Compiles information and delivers status reports. Develops basic tooling requirements and supports tooling development efforts for simple end items based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Organizes, plans, and prioritizes tasks to ensure project completion milestones are achieved. Investigates and resolves routine manufacturing related issues. Collaborates with staff and management in multiple functional areas. Performs other duties as assigned. Associate degree or 2+ years of experience working as a planner in an aircraft manufacturing environment preferred. Experience using Catia v5 or v6 required. ERP/MRP experience required; Epicor, Vantage, or Syteline preferred. Aircraft structures assembly planning experience preferred. Tooling fabrication planning experience desirable. Ability to read and understand blue prints. Ability to read and comprehend English. Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to communicate verbally both one-on-one and in group settings with management and co- workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed. Proficient knowledge of and be able to operate the software and equipment used in the department, including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using standard file nomenclature and electronic file maintenance. Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy. Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor's direction; and taking responsibility for own actions. Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines. Export Compliance This position may require access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies.
