About the role
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Planner to manage production and material planning activities. This role is essential to maintaining optimal inventory levels, aligning demand with capacity, and ensuring on-time delivery of customer orders. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to support a smooth and cost-effective production workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory status.
- Create and manage work orders and material requirements through the MRP system.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to support on-time production and fulfillment.
- Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve material constraints and scheduling conflicts.
- Analyze demand trends and supplier lead times to optimize safety stock and planning strategies.
- Cookordinate and implement engineering changes that impact production schedules.
- Communicate production updates, material shortages, and schedule changes to internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on accuracy, lead time reduction, and inventory optimization.
Requirements
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are preferred and considered a plus.
- 2–5 years of experience in production or material planning in a manufacturing or regulated environment (e.g., electronics, medical device, aerospace).
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (SAGE preferred or equivalent).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to interpret demand forecasts, BOMs, and production schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while adapting to changing business needs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment, working extended hours (as needed).
- Strong self-motivation and attitude for personal career growth, willingness to self-learn, and work in new technology domains.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
