PL/SQL Developer

About the role

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer to design, develop, test, and support complex Oracle database programs and enterprise application components. This role will maintain and enhance database packages, procedures, functions, and supporting documentation while partnering with technology teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and standards-compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test complex database programs in PL/SQL.
• Inspect, analyze, and document current functionality in packages, functions, and procedures.
• Ensure database programs comply with current development standards.
• Performance tune SQL statements and application programs.
• Provide technical assistance, problem resolution, and troubleshooting support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Support Oracle Cloud Database and Oracle Retail product suite environments where applicable.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies as part of the Scrum Team.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in an application development environment.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, unit testing, system testing, deployment, and production support.
• Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or equivalent database development tools.
• Basic GitLab and SVN knowledge.
• Introductory knowledge of Agile methodology and Jira.
• Excellent listening, verbal, written communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Retail experience.
• Experience with Oracle Forms.
