Vanguard University seeks a Program Coordinator to support the School of Education’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) and PK-3 Credential programs. This role advances the University’s mission by providing administrative, operational, and student support that fosters a Christ-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all accreditation activities and document submissions to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) in collaboration with the ECE Chair.
- Manage the admission process for the PK-3 credential program alongside the GPE Office and Assistant Director of Graduate Education.
- Coordinate advising and track student progress throughout the ECE and PK-3 programs.
- Organize effective credential orientations for new PK-3 and ECE students each semester.
- Assist the ECE Chair in preparing and managing budgets for the ECE and PK-3 programs.
- Advise the Chair and faculty on student remediation and intervention needs.
- Collaborate with the Chair and faculty on program changes and curriculum development.
- Troubleshoot departmental systems and policies.
- Maintain ECE and PK-3 websites and handbooks.
- Coordinate course schedule revisions, catalog editing, adjunct hiring logistics, and professional development for program staff.
- Participate in the University’s annual commencement ceremonies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Program management experience, preferably in educational institutions.
- Knowledge of teacher certification and school district organization.
- Ability to learn and represent program policies, procedures, and regulations, including CTC and accrediting body requirements.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve student issues collaboratively.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills for diverse audiences (students, faculty, staff, administration).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database use.
- Organizational and administrative skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to develop systems for program management, marketing, and advisement.
- Knowledge and acceptance of Vanguard University’s principles, philosophies, and requirements.
Pay
Non-exempt, full-time position with an expected pay range of $28.00 – $29.50 per hour. Placement within the range is based on education and experience.
