About the role

As a Barista, you’ll provide customers with the coffee they love while delivering excellent hospitality. You’ll contribute to our mission of serving smiles and building community connections, embodying our core values of customer commitment, accountability, quality, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Serve the tastiest, most consistent product according to PJ’s standards
• Deliver a smile and excellent hospitality to every customer
• Stay current with the menu, seasonal items, and promotions
• Make suggestions that improve the overall customer experience
• Be obsessive about quality and accuracy
• Work efficiently by prioritizing and using time wisely
• Demonstrate sound problem-solving skills
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Keep all areas clean and organized, maintain equipment, and report malfunctions
• Communicate with fellow staff in a timely, professional, and respectful manner
• Go above and beyond for the team and customers
• Get involved and enthusiastically support PJ’s community initiatives

Requirements

• An amazing work ethic, outgoing and engaging personality, and a genuine smile
• Interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Skills to communicate via email, phone, text, and company app
• Propensity to learn quickly
• Friendly demeanor and ability to stay calm under pressure

Barista experience is welcome but not required—you’ll be trained in the PJ’s way of serving the best cup of coffee in town.

Pay

Starting salary: $15.30/hour (with tip pooling*).
