Pipeline Technician
Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance of pumps and electric motors (including bearings and seal replacements, alignments, couplings, pumps, fans, and drain piping modifications) and on other mechanical equipment (including block valves, control valves, air compressors, and valve actuators).
Preserves facility appearance and safety through performing remedial and preventative maintenance, as well as good housekeeping practices.
Maintain and operate custody transfer measurement facilities and perform product quality control tests.
Essential Functions
Assist with the replacement of pumps, motors, valves, and other equipment as needed.
Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
Interface professionally and competently with private, public, and government landowners.
Other Functions
Complete other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications for Operator Qualifications, Safety, and any other regulatory requirements.
- Strong commitment to job safety, understanding company policies and company practices, and staying informed and following regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, schematics, and P&IDs, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations (additions, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
- Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
- Exhibit ability and desire to work independently and as part of a team as required.
- Utilize basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications, and possess the technical capacity to learn other software programs as needed.
- Internally motivated to start tasks and projects and committed to follow them until completion.
- Able to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
- Able to catch errors and inconsistencies in own work.
- Able to critically evaluate complex situations and make decisions.
Requirements
- Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Requires a valid Driver’s License.
- 1+ year(s) of direct oil field experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
- Operate motor vehicles and drive, on company business, to various worksites and locations.
- Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, or similar structures.
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing, sitting, kneeling, or crouching for prolonged periods.
- Adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers.
- Operate machinery or power tools.
- Absorb and assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Use a computer, read, work with small materials, or other task causing eyestrain for a prolonged duration.
- Work in potentially hazardous environments at various project sites.
- Ability to periodically travel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to be available for responding to emergency situations after work hours, nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
