Pipeline Engineer II

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout
- Determine block and tap valve placement
- Design pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways using open dig or trenchless construction methods
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices
- Perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress, considering internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc.
- Specify pipe materials and coatings
- Procure materials
- Prepare and submit engineering documentation (including calculations, forms, and checklists)
- Track project schedules and monitor budgets
- Develop pressure test procedures and support commissioning activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design drafting, right-of-way agents, cathodic protection engineers, and environmental specialists
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in mechanical or civil engineering is required
- 4–7 years of relevant experience
- A foundational understanding of high-pressure steel pipeline materials and construction practices
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
Skills
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices
- Proficiency with engineering analysis software
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $50.00 - $65.00.
