Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design of gas gathering and transmission pipeline projects. Translate project scope and operational requirements into detailed design packages aligned with EQT specifications and industry standards. Support development of construction drawings, alignment sheets, and design documentation through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with project managers to support all project phases - scoping, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Interface with land, regulatory, environmental, and operations teams to ensure design compliance and execution readiness.
- Provide engineering support during field construction and commissioning, resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations. Support permitting efforts and design modifications required for regulatory or environmental compliance.
- Identify design and constructability risks early and recommend mitigation strategies. Champion design standardization, continuous improvement, and lessons-learned integration across EQT’s pipeline projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical (or related discipline).
- 3+ years of experience in natural gas and/or natural gas pipeline or facility design.
- Proven ability to translate conceptual designs into executable engineering packages.
- Strong understanding of pipeline engineering principles including hydraulics, stress analysis, materials selection/specification, and corrosion control principles.
- Knowledge of ASME B31.8, API, DOT Part 192 & 195, and other applicable pipeline codes and standards.
- Clear, concise communicator with strong technical writing and documentation abilities. Collaborative mindset with a bias for action and accountability.
- Deep commitment to safe, responsible, and fit-for-purpose engineering.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly to field locations.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Familiarity with Appalachian basin operations.
- Experience working with third-party engineering & consulting.
- Knowledge of GIS tools and inspection management platforms.
- Autodesk experience preferred.
Benefits
This position will operate in a hybrid capacity, with work occurring from home, in the field (across our operating area), and in the office.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 annually.
