Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience on a utility crew
- Working knowledge of shoring and excavation
- Ability to read cut/grade sheets
- Work in outdoor environments in all seasons
- Be comfortable working alongside heavy equipment and able to communicate with operators, workers and pedestrians
- Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening
Responsibilities
- Installation and repair of waterline, sanitary sewer and storm sewer
- Ability to align and position pipes to prepare them for joining
- Ability to connect pipe pieces and seal joints
- Install and use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels
- Ability to check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
- Assist with the covering of pipes with earth or other materials
- Cut pipes to required lengths
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
- Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
- Work in confined and enclosed spaces
- Willing to train others in pipe-laying and provide supervision
- Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers and co-workers

Pay
The base hourly range is $20.00-$30.00 per hour. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule
Typical start time varies between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required.
