Pipefitter Helper - Rincon, GA #3143

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman-level craft by performing support tasks such as erecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
• Use hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely.
• Demonstrate basic competency in construction math.
• Safely identify and use rigging equipment (chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks, tuggers).
• Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel using picks and shovels.
• Lift, carry, and hold building materials and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas (sweeping, mopping, etc.).
• Join, wrap, align, and seal sections of pipe; assemble dredge pipeline sections.
• Measure distances from grade stakes and drive stakes.
• Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of machinery.
• Apply paints or bituminous compounds for protection.
• Spray materials (water, sand, steam, paint, stucco) through hoses to clean or coat surfaces.
• Grind, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.
• Perform demolition, saw lumber, dismantle forms, remove objects from concrete, mount hangers, and cut/attach insulating material.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Follow oral and written directions while adhering to company, client, and OSHA safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience as a Helper-level construction worker for entry-level roles.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Helper-level construction worker for top-level roles.
• Must complete all pre-hire requirements successfully.

Physical/Site Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy items up to 45 pounds.
• Move in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Work at heights with fall protection, including manlifts, baskets, and JLGs.
• Wear PPE, including footwear and prescription safety glasses or eye shields.
