Responsibilities
- Lead work crews in the pipefitting trade.
- Manages 2-6 employees.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Communicate with contractors on various projects to ensure quality work in a timely manner.
- Communicate with SPC staff and provide feedback on project status.
- Instruct pipefitting staff in techniques and procedures.
- Inspect work upon completion to ensure adherence to procedures and conformity to job documents and SPC job-specific drawings.
- Act as a working crew supervisor in cutting, threading, soldering, brazing, pressing, grooving, mechanical joint systems, fusion systems similar to Aquatherm, assembling and installing pipe, connecting valves, and pressure testing finished work.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ industrial/commercial pipefitting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
- Proficient in using framing squares, level, pipe wrench, and other tools listed.
Skills
- Certified Welder.
- Competent with the use of an iPad.

- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock.
- Regular exposure to welding arcs.
- Frequent exposure to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, or hot environments, and vibration.
- Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving heavier items up to 100 pounds.
