Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team in support of a paper manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems including steam, water, and heating systems.
  • Responsible for the installation and repairing of expansion joints, valves, gaskets, and steam traps.
  • Read drawings, complete layouts, cut/join and fit pipe tubing.
  • Able to make pipe patterns for saddles, reducers, and offsets along with pipe fabrication.
  • Maintain condensate systems.
  • Install, repair, replace, maintain, and modify piping systems.
  • Install, repair, replace, maintain, and modify natural gas, oxygen, gas (including chlorine), chemical, and process lines.
  • Install, repair, replace, maintain, and modify non-condensable lines.
  • Perform ARC welding and TIG welding.
  • Perform proper rigging and use of mobile cranes, lift conveyors, and hoists.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain a Minnesota High Pressure Piping License within 4 years.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, and bend.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a paper or other manufacturing environment.
  • Completion of a formal pipefitter apprenticeship or currently enrolled in one or equivalent experience and training.
  • Preference given for applicants with a MN state plumbing license.

  • Willingness to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
  • Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
  • Thriving in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Hourly salary range for position: $32.61 (76% Apprentice) to $57.88
  • Paid Vacation.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision – and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
