We Are Proud To Offer Our Employees 401(k)Competitive WagesApprenticeship and Comprehensive Training ProgramsPaid Holidays Upon HireCompetitive Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHSA with Employer ContributionPaid Time OffCompany Paid Short-Term Disability & Life InsuranceSafety Bonus ProgramEmployee Stock Ownership ProgramWork Travel IncentiveHoliday Bonus Responsibilities Support other apprentices, and foremen on various projects Follow instructions from foremen and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently Keep the job site clean and well-organized Handle the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards Fuel and wash department vehicles Gain essential service and installation skills to progress within the department Assisting with the installation of piping systems Requirements Minimum of 2-3 years’ Pipefitting experience Participate in our employer sponsored DOL Pipefitting Apprenticeship Assisting Prep, Fab, Install, and fit pipe to spec Cut or bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, or mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools Assisting with the installation of piping systems Tube bending/hand bending Pipe Grooving Ability to use Megapress to 4" Ability to use Propress to 4" Has basic welding, brazing, and soldering experience PVC prep and glue Blueprint reading Assist with job layout Confined space entrant Confined space attendant/supervisor Hot work Fall protection Lockout tagout Preferred Requirements Basic knowledge of Plumbing & Mechanical Code Assisting in inspection of current existing systems Assist in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, or hangers according to specifications Power bending Hydraulic flaring Pre-swaging tool (compression) Basic welding and fabrication Material take-offs Equipment & tool experience: Aerial lift Operation - Boom & ScissorForklift Operation - Material Handling up to 5000# Telehandler Hand benders Power bender Pipe Groover Floor cutter Hydraulic flaring tool (preferred) Gas cutting torch (preferred) Pre-swaging tool (compression) (preferred) Chauffeur LIC/Med DOT Physical (preferred) Trailer Loading and Securing of Material (preferred) Hydrostatic test pump knowledge & setup (preferred) Rigging Requirements: Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials. Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings. Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines Identifies common load configurations & positioning Rigger 1 training – trains on above Physical Requirements Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces Must be able to work in cold/hot environments Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain This job description reflects management assignment of essential functions, and nothing in this herein restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
