Responsibilities
- Determines methods and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Prepares and/or works from sketches, plans, specifications, and roughing-in sheets in accord with approved trade practices.
- Interprets graphic symbols on piping drawings.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints.
- Installs and repairs piping systems using flanged, screwed, bell and spigot, compression, and soldered joints.
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools.
- Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
- Enters safe vessels, towers, and columns for installation and maintenance of trays and cleaning.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks that require manually moving materials, tools, and equipment and using hand tools and power tools.
- Completes paperwork documenting repair and maintenance activities.
- Gives suitable assignments to helpers.
- Works in association with all crafts (electrician, welder, carpenter, or painter) when conditions, schedule, or workload warrants or as directed by management.
- Secures equipment to prevent movement during work.
- Performs work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
Qualifications
- 6-48 months of experience in work involving a variety of layout, installation, and maintenance tasks.
- Possess a valid drivers’ license with a good driving record.
- Have related tools.

- Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
- Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.

- Knowledge of basic rigging safety practices.

- Ability to stoop or kneel.
- Ability to work 50 or more hours each week.
