About the role

GreenWood, Inc. is now actively recruiting applicants for a Pipe Welder Journeyman position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This is a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt position with Monday through Thursday work schedule from 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week, and occasional overtime as needed. The position requires no travel.

Responsibilities

  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other materials by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process to be used.
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
  • Aids with tests on new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria as established by the policies and procedures and/or written test plans.
  • Maintains welding equipment.
  • Participates in daily toolbox talks.
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience in both pipe systems, testing processes and equipment, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures with the welding field.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality.
  • Reaches and maintains a high level of communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture.

Skills

  • Experience in pipe systems, welding, and testing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
