About the role

The Ingalls Pipe Welder is responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. The shipyard environment is an around the clock manufacturing setting. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.
  • Work in an around the clock manufacturing setting.
  • Work at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day.
  • May be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.
  • Practice safe work in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from a pipe welder program at a vo-tech school or other training school.
  • Program must have training in TIG root and stick fill and cap on steel piping in the 6GR position.

Nice to Have

  • Mississippi Tech Master Certification.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule
