PIPE FITTER ENTRY LEVEL

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range.

About the role

Pipe fitters are responsible for installing complex piping systems on ships and in shops. More than 23 miles of pipe are installed on a submarine, and more than 230 miles on a carrier. As a pipe fitter, you will learn to read blueprints, fabricate, install, inspect, and test the many piping systems onboard a ship. In your first few weeks, you will attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class where you will receive important information needed for your job. During your career, you will also receive other training to enhance your knowledge of the job.

• Inspect and test piping systems
• Attend a Fundamentals of Piping Fitting class
• Receive additional training throughout your career

Requirements

• Able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces
• Able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
• Able to lift 40 lbs and pass a respirator fit test
• Able to work indoors/outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Able to work assigned shifts as production needs require
• Able to pass a Physical Agility Test

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Skills
