About the role

We are seeking a Pipefitter to join our Texas Division in the Alamogordo, New Mexico area.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications.
  • Lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps.
  • Monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in monitoring project labor.
  • Understand the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring.
  • Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling.
  • Work with different types of process piping materials and connections, including PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP.
  • Operate forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift.
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects.
  • Ability to read printed materials, signs, and directions.
  • Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift overhead.
  • Capability to traverse around or position oneself safely on various construction sites.
  • Willingness to work outside, frequently for long periods, in all weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
