About the role

Pioneer Animal Hospital in Leavenworth is growing! We’re looking for an associate veterinarian to join our team at Pioneer Animal Hospital — someone who enjoys practicing good medicine, values teamwork, and wants to work in a positive, supportive environment. An interest in or experience with exotic animal medicine (pocket pets, avian, reptile, amphibian) is desired to serve our growing caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provide exceptional client service and build strong client relationships
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent)
  • Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in Kansas
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to high-quality veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Passion for continued professional development and learning

Qualifications

  • Experience in small animal and exotic medicine preferred
  • Interest in or experience with exotic animal medicine (pocket pets, avian, reptile, amphibian) is desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Pay

Salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

The ideal candidate works at least one Saturday per month, but flexibility is important to us.
