Summary
The PICC Registered Nurse at Moffitt Cancer Center provides care to patients requiring long-term, central or deep peripheral IV access. Responsibilities include assessment, line placement, immediate follow-up, and promoting optimal care through clinical activities, education, quality assurance, research, and administrative functions.
Position Highlights
- Delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards, and policies.

- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families.
- Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on learning needs of the patient.
- Participates in evidence-based improvement activities related to area of practice.
- Participates in professional development based on nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has 5 years of experience starting IV’s.
- Has 3 years of infusion therapy experience.
- Has 2 years of placing peripherally inserted catheters.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodology, risk management practices, and infection control practices.
Credentials and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an ACEN or CCNE with at least one year of relevant experience.
- Florida RN License.
- BLS Certification.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $43.92 - $67.04. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
