About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Oncology Department at Avita Galion Hospital is dedicated to assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients within the specialty clinic. The role involves participating in patient and family teaching, advocating for patients, and coordinating clinical staff for optimal patient flow and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Affirmatively assesses and plans nursing care for patients in the oncology clinic setting.
- Teaches patients and their families about their health conditions and treatment plans.
- Fulfills the role of patient advocate, aligning with the hospital's mission.
- Coordinates with clinical staff to manage patient flow and ensure smooth clinical operations.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Completion of an online education program for PICC/Midline insertion or equivalent within six months of hire.
- Two (2) or more years of previous experience working in an outpatient specialty clinic/center preferred.
- Previous experience with PICC/Midlines preferred.
