PIC Role Overview
The Person in Charge (PIC) position is a secondary work assignment that requires an Area Coordinator, CSM, or Department Manager at this location. Eligibility is based on current role and selection.
PIC Responsibilities
- Opening and closing routines including bank deposits, receipt of shipments, and interpretation/dissemination of company directives when assigned as manager on duty.
- Aids in the operation of a profitable store by controlling expenses, maintaining stock levels, managing personnel, adhering to policies, ensuring cleanliness, problem-solving, managing liabilities, protecting assets, and enhancing employee morale and customer satisfaction.
Additional Compensation
Wage increases by an additional $2.00 per hour while scheduled as a PIC.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to the Store Manager.
- Coordinates with Store management, district managers, senior VP of store operations, area coordinators, hourly clerks, and cashiers, as well as administrative office staff.
Essential Job Functions
- Accountable for exceeding satisfaction and friendliness standards compared to competitors.
- Leads and delegates tasks as directed by store managers.
- Serves as the manager on duty to handle customer service, personnel, and maintenance issues.
- Trains, evaluates, and communicates with employees.
- Maintains in-stock positions and merchandises according to company guidelines.
- Takes action to reduce theft and waste.
- Ensures adherence to cash handling, check acceptance, and accounting systems.
- Maintains a safe working environment and enforces company policy.
- Oversees employee activities such as unloading trucks, pricing merchandise, stocking shelves, or cashiering.
- Models leadership and conduct for employees across all store operations.
