Piano Accompanist - Horizon Middle School (2026-27 School Year)

About the role

Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for a Piano Accompanist at Horizon Middle School beginning the 2026-2027 School Year. This position will work 7 hours per day and follows the school calendar.

Responsibilities

• Accompany all chorus rehearsals, including dress and technical rehearsals.
• Provide accompaniment for sectional rehearsals as needed.
• Play voice parts during rehearsals to assist with learning.
• Accompany students for audition recordings and live auditions for festivals, honor choirs, etc.
• Create recordings of piano accompaniment or individual vocal parts for students as needed for learning and practice.
• Accompany the chorus during all school year performances.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the choir program.

Requirements

• Proficiency in piano accompaniment, especially in choral settings.
• Ability to read and play vocal scores accurately and efficiently.
• Strong organizational skills to prepare and manage accompaniment recordings.

Skills

• Familiarity with choral rehearsal techniques and processes.
• Understanding of vocal parts and ensemble accompaniment.
