M/HS Piano Accompanist

Primary Purpose

The Piano Accompanist partners with Middle School and High School Choral Directors to provide musical accompaniment, instructional support, classroom assistance, and administrative support in a Christ-centered environment consistent with Landmark Christian School’s Core Values, Vision, and Mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide piano accompaniment for daily choral rehearsals, concerts, festivals, and performances.
• Affiliate with directors with classroom management and student engagement.
• Prepare accompaniment scores for rehearsals and performances.
• Demonstrate strong sight-reading and open-score reading skills.
• Provide occasional transpositions and musical adaptations as needed.
• Affiliate with sectional rehearsals, vocal parts, sight-singing, music literacy, and theory instruction.
• Encourage students toward musical excellence and growth.
• Maintain the choral music library.
• Affiliate with rehearsal recordings, practice tracks, concert attire, music distribution, and other departmental needs.
• Be an active, supportive member of the Fine Arts Department.
• Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a servant's heart.

Qualifications

• Exceptional piano skills with advanced sight-reading and score-reading abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Piano Performance, or related field preferred; equivalent accompanying experience also considered.
• Experience accompanying choirs or vocal ensembles preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and related software.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administrators in a Christian school environment.
