Primary Purpose
The Piano Accompanist partners with Middle School and High School Choral Directors to provide musical accompaniment, instructional support, classroom assistance, and administrative support in a Christ-centered environment consistent with Landmark Christian School’s Core Values, Vision, and Mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide piano accompaniment for daily choral rehearsals, concerts, festivals, and performances.
- Affiliate with directors with classroom management and student engagement.
- Prepare accompaniment scores for rehearsals and performances.
- Demonstrate strong sight-reading and open-score reading skills.
- Provide occasional transpositions and musical adaptations as needed.
- Affiliate with sectional rehearsals, vocal parts, sight-singing, music literacy, and theory instruction.
- Encourage students toward musical excellence and growth.
- Maintain the choral music library.
- Affiliate with rehearsal recordings, practice tracks, concert attire, music distribution, and other departmental needs.
- Be an active, supportive member of the Fine Arts Department.
- Collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a servant's heart.

Qualifications
- Exceptional piano skills with advanced sight-reading and score-reading abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Piano Performance, or related field preferred; equivalent accompanying experience also considered.
- Experience accompanying choirs or vocal ensembles preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and related software.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administrators in a Christian school environment.
