About the role
Teaching assignment includes physics and astronomy courses and may be delivered in face-to-face (day and evening), hybrid, accelerated, and online modalities. Faculty responsibilities also include academic advising, committee work, institutional and community service, and professional development. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to student learning, employ active and engaged teaching methods, and integrate technology in the classroom. Candidates should also align with the mission of the comprehensive community college.
Responsibilities
- Teach physics and astronomy courses in various delivery formats (face-to-face, hybrid, accelerated, online).
- Advise students.
- Participate in committee work and institutional service.
- Engage in community service and professional development.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in physics or astronomy from a regionally accredited college or university, or a master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in physics or astronomy.
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a community college setting, is preferred.

$45,000 minimum salary.
