About the role

The Ochsner Department of Urology and the Ochsner Children’s Hospital in New Orleans are seeking a Section Head of Pediatric Urology as well as junior faculty to join their highly regarded program. The successful candidate will be part of a high-functioning, rapidly growing tertiary/quaternary Pediatrics Program and Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Section of Pediatric Urology, overseeing clinical operations, staff management, and educational initiatives.
  • Develop and implement innovative treatment protocols and research projects in pediatric urology.
  • Collaborate with other pediatric specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with urological conditions.
  • Train and mentor junior faculty and residents in the Ochsner Urology residency program.
  • Participate in clinical trials and contribute to the advancement of pediatric urology research.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • A current medical license to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana.
  • Board certification in Pediatric Urology.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in pediatric urology.
  • Experience in academic medicine, including teaching and mentoring.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a clinical team.
