About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board-certified Child Neurologist to serve as Section Head. The successful candidate will possess proven leadership, team building, program development and managerial experience. Areas of administrative responsibility will include practice growth and new program development, patient experience, physician recruiting, budgetary performance, productivity, quality, and medical staff management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Section of Neurology, which currently comprises four physicians and two NPs with plans for additional faculty members.
  • Collaborate with pediatric neurosurgeons specializing in epilepsy surgery and complex spasticity surgery to provide comprehensive care including surgical epilepsy management and neurostimulation devices.
  • Manage multidisciplinary programs for headache, movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders (including gene therapy), spasticity, craniofacial conditions, neonatal neurology, functional neurological disorders and epilepsy (including ketogenic diet).
  • Support the growth and development of the Section through new program development and practice growth.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Oversee medical staff management, including physician recruiting and budgetary performance.

Requirements

  • Board certification in Child Neurology.
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience.
  • Experience in developing and managing multidisciplinary programs.
  • Strong collaboration skills with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to manage a team and oversee practice growth.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of a pediatric neurology residency program.
  • Fellowship training in Epilepsy, Neuromuscular Medicine, or Headache preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
