About the Role
The position is responsible for leading assigned searches and providing the hiring department/service/organization with high-quality physicians and advanced practitioners. The Physician Recruiter advises and collaborates with senior management regarding all aspects of recruitment, develops and manages sourcing strategies, and creates a solid recruitment process to bring physicians into the organization effectively and efficiently. This role serves as an extension of hospital leadership, the medical staff, hospital-affiliated group practices, and the Human Resources team, ensuring high visibility and accessibility within assigned areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Establish yourself as a business partner with leadership for assigned departments.
- Provide ongoing communication and involvement with assigned departments related to planning and implementing the physician recruitment process.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, recruitment, and hiring efficiently and effectively.
- Represent and promote the organization positively and professionally.
- Involve and communicate with internal and external teams to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
- Ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to new hire status by handing off to the onboarding team.
- Create sourcing plans and budgets with timelines and stakeholder accountabilities to address short- and long-term recruitment needs.
- Develop effective recruitment strategies and campaigns for assigned searches.
- Maintain current data on all openings and potential candidates using recruitment software/databases.
- Create practice opportunity descriptions for open positions through information gathering with the internal team and market intelligence for the physician specialty area.
- Use direct marketing, advertising, cold calling, and outbound email solicitation to achieve measurable results.
- Attend career fairs, trade shows, and specialty meetings to create visibility for the organization and its openings.
- Implement processes to ensure timely communication and handling of all candidates from application to offer.
- Establish each position’s professional and cultural criteria to ensure the best fit for the organization.
- Oversee the scheduling of on-site interviews, facilitate tours, and arrange meet-and-greet opportunities for candidates and their spouses/partners.
- Manage the offer process to a successful outcome, including providing market research to create competitive offers.
- Ensure reference checks are completed when conducted by department directors or Chairs.
- Monitor the offer process to ensure timeliness of responses and close rates.
- Collaborate with all internal and external parties to ensure successful recruitment.
- Work with respective practices and clinical services to determine open position responsibilities, expectations, and ideal candidate criteria.
- Adhere to all HR policies and support the integrity and requirements of the employment process.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to develop recruitment materials and advertising.
- Work with the Medical Staff Office and understand the credentialing process and requirements.
- Involve critical stakeholders in greeting, touring, and interviewing potential candidates.
- Provide the onboarding team with all pertinent information at the conclusion of successful hires.
- Follow up with candidates post-hire to ensure organizational promises are met and the transition is smooth.
- Actively pursue learning and self-development to perform responsibilities more effectively.
- Attend and participate in outside conferences and professional organizations to stay updated on recruitment-related rules and regulations.
- Seek information on trends and industry changes affecting recruitment efforts.
- Participate in efforts contributing to the development of the organization, physician recruitment function, and strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Physician or APP (Provider) recruitment experience or 3 years of progressive healthcare experience.

Work Environment
- Work requires close attention to task for accuracy.
- Daily work is varied, requiring adaptability, independent judgment, and priority management.
- No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Sensory requirements include close work (paperwork, visual examination), monitor use, visual clarity, conversation, and telephone communication.
- Physical requirements: Sedentary work involving exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing. Constant sitting and frequent keyboard use.
- Business travel to attend client meetings and recruitment events as needed.
- Health Care Worker Status: No patient contact (may vary by department).
- Influenza vaccination required as a condition of employment.
Pay
Annual base salary range: $104,000.00 USD - $125,000.00 USD. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors permissible by law.
