Physician (Radiologist) - Nuclear Imaging

About the role

The Orlando VA Healthcare System's Radiology Service is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist - Nuclear Medicine. Ideal candidates are those who wish to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards and the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program.

Responsibilities

• Help establish procedures and protocols for ordering, image acquisition, quality, and safety
• Interpret general nuclear medicine studies, nuclear medicine cardiac studies, and PET/CT studies
• Administer therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals including I-131 sodium iodide, Ra-223 dichloride, and Y-90 microspheres
• Oversee all aspects of the division's compliance with NRC regulations
• Have experience/skill pertaining to body imaging
• Take part in after-hours call based from home
• Participate in educational activities including intradepartmental and multidisciplinary conferences

Requirements

• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
• Completed residency training in a core specialty program approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
• Board certified in Radiology
• Experience/skill in nuclear medicine and body imaging

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: United States citizenship, English proficiency, MD or equivalent degree, current full and unrestricted license, completed residency training, board certification
• Additional Requirements: Preference given to board certified Radiologists - Nuclear Medicine

• Proficient in English
• Ability to work independently and oversee compliance with regulatory requirements
• Strong clinical skills in nuclear medicine and body imaging
