Responsibilities

• Makes decisions that have a serious impact on the lives of others, such as recommending hospitalization or determining a service member's fitness for duty or assessing and completing a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB).
• Provides routine, intensive, complex and emergency intakes and extended evaluations for a variety of emotional, psychological and behavioral disorders.
• Performs duties as a practitioner and consultant in Psychiatry with emphasis on problems of all levels of complexity.
• Provides psychiatric care for walk-in patients presenting with acute illnesses of minor and major proportions.
• Collaborates with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving complicated and multifaceted problems.
• Provides treatment services in any capacity including, but not limited to, assessment, medication management and disposition of psychiatric patients including making arrangements for hospitalization if needed.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry.
• Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
