Responsibilities
- Makes decisions that have a serious impact on the lives of others, such as recommending hospitalization or determining a service member's fitness for duty or assessing and completing a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB).
- Provides routine, intensive, complex and emergency intakes and extended evaluations for a variety of emotional, psychological and behavioral disorders.
- Performs duties as a practitioner and consultant in Psychiatry with emphasis on problems of all levels of complexity.
- Provides psychiatric care for walk-in patients presenting with acute illnesses of minor and major proportions.
- Collaborates with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving complicated and multifaceted problems.
- Provides treatment services in any capacity including, but not limited to, assessment, medication management and disposition of psychiatric patients including making arrangements for hospitalization if needed.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship required.
- Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
