Responsibilities

Provide routine, complex, and emergency mental health care for a wide range of emotional, psychological, and mental disorders.

Develop and implement treatment plans using advanced knowledge and skills, considering multiple therapeutic alternatives.

Make appropriate referrals to internal and external medical and mental health providers as needed.

Serve as an expert advisor on mental health policies and procedures within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).

Implement and monitor program initiatives for effectiveness and access.

Ensure all personnel receive necessary professional training and continuing education.

Oversee and participate in training programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.

Set goals and provide administrative and technical direction to subordinates.

Assign performance ratings, approve awards, and take corrective actions as needed.

Identify developmental and training needs of employees.

Provide or arrange for necessary training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.

Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Psychiatry) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
