Physician - Primary Care

Job Summary

Essen Health Care is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Primary Care Providers (MD or DO) for various regions including Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Poughkeepsie, Long Island, and Westchester County. This role involves providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the standard of care for Nursing Home patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing and diagnosing patients
• Prescribing appropriate medication, health regimens, and lifestyle adjustments
• Ordering laboratory and radiology tests
• Referring patients to specialists when necessary
• Analyzing reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose conditions and propose treatment options
• Discussing potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with health information privacy laws
• Maintaining complete, timely, and legible medical records
• Adhering to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient experiences

The ideal candidate should have a passion for providing diagnostic services and experience working in a team environment.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• A BC/BE in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care/Hospice, or Family Medicine
• A Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) degree from an accredited United States medical school
• Completion of residency and an accredited healthcare institution or completion of a US residency or 5-year pathway
• An active NY License
• A Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• A Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting
• Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals

Benefits

Essen Health Care offers a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $300,000, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
